The past weeks had been busy, mess-ily sick for me..... been through cycle of sickness-lethargic-down-helplessness-busy etc... it peaked last monday where my whole team was down on MC the very same day! Not that I didn't treat them well....I think is the 'stomach-flu' spreading around la..
Anyway, so this weekend, I decided to give myself a break....I went on shopping by myself on Saturday afternoon and then met up with a close friend.....was a nice catch up and to know that the friendship didnt fade away because of time or distance...... and today after church went for lunch with some cell members.... then went home facebook-ing the whole afternoon (my usual way of relaxing - doing some fun 'quiz' and kepo checking out on ppl, browsing through pictures etc hahahahha)....
And then I decided to create the 'How well do you know Amy' quiz.... was pleasantly surprised by the people who took the test and how much they know about me... had a good laugh over the competing views I got from the question about 'my sexiest feature' - they can't decide whether it's my eyes or my boobs hahahhaha.... then I got a new answer just this evening - my legs are not too bad too! (*that's where I responded - too sexy lar, can't help it! maybe I should change the answer to 'all the above'* - yes, the crazy and thick face Amy speaking now)...
Anyway, that's not the point of me blogging here.... one of the question was about what I look for in friendship and what I enjoy the most...... then I thought to myself, it'll be so nice for me to take a break and spend some good quality time with people close to my heart... and God hears my hearts - I ended the night with a really really nice catching up session with one of my cell gal.... we went out for a starbuck drink at 9pm and chatted our hearts out - our concern about people close to us, our deepest desire, our aspiration, our struggle and joy in our journey with God etc.... it's very rare to find someone whom you can share, identify with each other and know each other and love and accept the person so much that you'll walk away from the chat feeling blessed and loved.... and increasingly I thank God that God is bringing many precious sisters into my life where we can encourage and bless one another... and i'm convinced more and more that God has a very special love for women and He has indeed uniquely made us .... the strength, the depth, the tenacity and the potential we carry allowed us to have a glimpse of how beautiful and awesome this God of the universe is...
Oh well....what can I say...... my heart is warmed tonight.......and I know God was with us at the starbucks sofa tonight.....hearing our hearts and just loving and embracing us.....
I think I can sleep very well and sweetly tonight........and i'm ready to face the world tomorrow .....by His grace... and with His strength......

What consume you?
Yes, that's the topic for our ladies discussion group tonight...
I'm not going to share what was being discussed or shared by these lovely ladies tonight... but just my own reflection and thoughts about this question...
I thought about it for very long time during my sickness this time round.... I had one day practically 'paralysed' - lying on the bed without the strength to do anything. It 'forced' me to face the reality that I had been 'cheating' myself into thinking I can still cope very well and I'm still managing my time pretty well (though I did not compromise my service to God; caring and investing into people's lives).... I have to finally come face to face with the physical limitation that I have - that the 5-6 hrs per day continously is not getting me anywhere though i'm enjoying the busyness, learning a lot and still running around spending time with people; preparing special surprises for mum's birthday; doing my writing for the church etc...
Even though at the back of my mind, I kinda feeling 'tired' but I thought I could do it and sustain till the project stabilises in June/July.... the 'sickness-warning' aside, little did I know that I have also been depriving myself so much so much.... just last sunday, I decided not to do ANY work AT ALL and just relax and rest for the day... I took out a few books from the shelf to read, to find some inspiration on my writing about 'leadership'....gosh, the feeling is SO NICE SO NICE! I can't recall when was the last time that I have that luxury of resting and unhurriedly do something that I really enjoy...
I really need to have a break, have a holiday....I can't wait to go Sabah for a short holiday, just sit by the beach or island and read my book and reflect.....or sit at the jetty and have a sip on red wine....
Or maybe I should just go on a short 'retreat' for now........
